CITY ACHIEVEMENTS BEING CELEBRATED

A Plymouth Bites Back Celebration Awards Day is being planned at the Plymouth Guildhall on Wednesday 31st March 2010, in association with The Herald's successful campaign to champion city community groups, training providers, educational establishments, public sector organisations, charitable and local businesses.
 

Sharron Robbie, Employer Liaison Officer at City College Plymouth and Chair of the Plymouth Bites Back Steering committee organising the civic event with other city providers, said: “The Plymouth Bites Back awards ceremony is being sponsored by 10 international, national and local sponsors.”

The prestigious awards will mark outstanding individual and organisational achievements across the city during the biggest economic downturn in living memory. We are planning an exhibition event that will showcase city opportunities for developing future partnerships and skills.”

Awards categories up for grabs and being exclusively launched in the Plymouth Herald next week for people & organisations to nominate include:

The programme of events starts at 8.45am with a VIP/Business networking breakfast, this will be followed at 9.45 am with a musical theatre performance by City College Plymouth students before the awards ceremony commences at 10.00am.

Bill Martin, Editor of the Herald, will act as compere for the event. The awards will conclude at 11.00am with another student musical performance. At 11.15am the doors of the historic Guildhall will open to the general public until 3.00pm.

Kevin Kelway, South West Media Coordinator for A4e, said: “The Plymouth Bites Back Celebration Day is a fantastic showcase for the city to pull together and celebrate one of The Herald’s most successful campaigns since the Second World War.”

“The event is FREE for people attending and FREE for organisations and businesses to have exhibitor stands at the Guildhall.”

A series of advertorials and sleeves in the Herald and Plymouth EXTRA promoting the showcase with also appear building up to the event. Companies looking to appear on wrap around sleeves for the EXTRA and Herald dated for the 11th March will need to contact Kevin Kelway at: southwestpr@a4e.co.uk  where a small fee will be charged.
