Trudy Glasson of A4e Pathways, said: “The scheme is a vital project & run by volunteers in the Crown Centre at Stonehouse. Many Pathway clients do volunteering in the centre and A4e is very active with the Mission. Families in need are referred to the Food Bank and given vouchers to collect food parcels.”
The Crown Centre is also a drop in centre that cooks home made meals at very low prices, delivers IT training, and literacy & numeracy lessons. We are delighted to receive the food parcels from A4e staff and ongoing support from A4e Pathways, said Project Coordinator Eunice Haliday of Plymouth Food Bank.
Jon Golding, Plymouth Pathways Delivery Manager, said: "According to Plymouth Food Bank one in every 3.7 households has income poverty. A varied and balanced diet is vital to good general and dental health, which is why we are more than happy to support this project that is benefiting families in need across the city.”
The Plymouth Food Bank rely solely on donations, both food, money and volunteers, and can be regularly seen at local shopping malls asking shoppers to donate a tin of food or dried items to make up food parcels.
